Yesterday, a very old friend of mine, Tashi Dorje, and his daughter paid me a surprise visit. Tashi is one of the most helpful persons for Hemis. Ever since I was very small, I have seen how hard Tashi worked for Hemis and the restoration. He used to be the Deputy Commissioner of Ladakh, now he is promoted and lives in Jammu. It is very rare to meet someone like him these days. His father is a great yogi in Ladakh and his brothers are great practitioners, our beloved Amchi Rigzin, the doctor that you all know, is his brother. He is very successful at work and also has a very strong mind to practise. He is here with his youngest daughter to do over 100 koras at Swayambhunath Stupa. Can you believe it? I don't think many people who are successful at work would make that much effort. I am sure some of you would do that, but I don't think many of you would do that, would you? It is so difficult for some of you to leave your work, your house and your family and friends, to even give yourself a break, so it would be more difficult to come to Kathmandu for 10 days, just to do koras. Your friends must be thinking that you are crazy, don't you think so? To be able to keep the balance between mundane and spiritual life and be successful doing both is really a great quality. I want to congratulate Tashi Dorje for being able to do this.
My parents are having a lot of rest so their health is more stable. I don't want them to have any stress. It's time for them to enjoy and relax. Of course, great practitioners like them don't think like that. They are constantly practising for the sake of everyone. I am so lucky to have them as my parents, they have given me all the mundane love and spiritual guidance. In this sense, I am really a lucky chap.
