Actually I was quite sad leaving Darjeeling yesterday, which is quite unusual. I guess I was a little worried and concerned if the young Gyalwa Lorepa would be fine by himself at a foreign environment. But I was quite relieved to hear from his teacher that he was beginning to remember many of the things he learned in his past life, so now I am more confident that he will not be facing so many difficulties in his learning and studies. Of course, I should not worry, how stupid I am in this case. It is very easy for us to talk about reincarnation of enlightened masters, but for us to believe with a deep sense of devotion or conviction that they are TRULY the reincarnation is actually not so easy, because we are very shallow and if I may daringly say, most of us have many doubts about karma deep in our hearts.
I took the opportunity to visit the new home of Gyalwa Lorepa's parents. I just wanted to see if they needed anything or if everything was okay. This is a big change and a big sacrifice for them, I hope I am able to give them some encouragement and some assurance that everything will be okay. They have a wonderful place and they themselves are beautiful people. Even though they had to sacrifice their comfortable life and successful business in Boston, they didn't mind. This reminds me of my own parents. Our parents are so kind and we don't normally realise it until too late. Parents can sacrifice everything for their child, like my father for example, he is such a respected Dzogchen master who left so many different prints of enlightenment in this world for the sake of all beings, yet because of my perculiar situation, he sacrificed everything and went to Ladakh to help me and my lineage. Especially as reincarnations, they have a lot of work and a lot of duties to accomplish. Parents sometimes can be obstacles if they don't understand, but in Gyalwa Lorepa's case, his parents are 100% supportive and loving. This is a blessing also for me and our lineage. I am very excited about inviting them to Ladakh and I am sure they will have a very interesting time there, I don't know whether they will enjoy that much though as the weather can be too cold.
Gyalwa Lorepa was telling me stories of monkeys, birds and dragons flying and gliding, all these interesting accounts when he was with me on my way from the town to the monastery. Unfortunately I had to leave him behind half way. Now I am sending my wishes and love from afar.
This time, I had the opportunity to visit the holy places of Guru Padmasambhava in Sikkim, especially visiting the home of my Ashang Rinpoche, publicly known as Soktse Rinpoche. It is located in Pema Yangtse or the Footprint Lake, above the lake, about 5 hours walking, there was a cave where I was in a solid retreat for a few months, a couple of years back. I went anonymously and took the opportunity to visit, there was no time to go to capital Gangtok, even though I was thinking about visiting my beloved students and friends up there, including Mr and Mrs TT Dorje. In my entire journey, I was thinking of that. In the near future, I will definitely be visiting them there.
That's all for now.
