My Old Friend, Kunzang Tenzin
8th July 2008
After so many years, my old friend Kunzang Tenzin, better known as Lama Surya Das, finally came to Druk Amitabha Mountain. I still feel very sorry that I wasn't able to spend much time with him. I wasn't supposed to be so busy according my own schedule, out of a sudden, I became so busy because I had to do many poojas for my guru who is just living down the road from me. My guru has not been very well lately, I am very worried and these days, I am doing what I can to pray for his recovery and longevity.
I know Lama Surya Das did not mind not to have me around him for 24 hours. Anyway, he had a jet lag for 3 to 4 days when he arrived. When I was available then, I didn't think he was even able to open his eyes.
But the sad thing is that by the time his jet lag was over, it was time for him to leave. That was quite a samsaric thing. I would say that it was one of the characteristics of samsara. You can see a few of the photos in my photo gallery that I just updated a few days ago.
Overall we enjoyed a lot in each other's company. I made him promise to come back, give me more encouragement on the life, spiritual as well as the mundane life.
I am still writing about Gyalwa Gotsangpa. Maybe when I have a little more time, I will be able to share something more than what you normally read about Gotsangpa. I am truly trying to recall. Anyway, people say that I was his guru, I should know. Sometimes, I tell these people that sometimes we can't even remember what we ate 2 hours ago, how can poor guys like me remember things that happened more than few hundred years back? Anyhow, let's see what happens, there are of course many things worthwhile to recall. As you know, I can be quite talkative and I do seem to be able to punch the computer keys quite nicely these days. Thanks for all your encouragement through emails. You see, we all need to encourage each other in this world.
